I keep wanting to change the title of this shot.

It can mean so many things to different people.

Some have told me that the primary colours move them.
Others tell me there is something about the unending colours through the middle.
Another person told me that they love to sit there in the summer.
I had one person who had conversations with their future husband in these chairs.

And me, well the colours remind me of Ryleighs Rainbow.

Ryleigh’s Rainbow.

Ryleigh was our dog, and she is a part of the reason this whole thing exists.

The back story goes that back in 2020 we were all in lockdown, covid was keeping us from being able to really do much.

Unfortunately at that time, Ryleigh had cancer, and through the year she got worse.

Then in Dec 2020 she crossed the rainbow bridge.

The day after, I got up like I always did and I was pulled to go out to the hill where we always had played. I don’t know what told me to go when I did…

But then I got to the hill, someone asked me “where is your little friend” I was floored.

I just shook my head and started crying…

Now I can’t make this up… I looked in the distance and I saw a rainbow.

I have to admit, before this moment I wasn’t sure if there was anything “after” this life, still trying to figure it out.

But at that moment, I became a believer… the rainbow was Ryleigh telling me that she made it, and that everything was alright.

After that, things changed, I tried to start walking more, trying to get myself back into shape and generally trying to feel better.

This project came from me walking the waterfront looking for signs.

Little did I know when I took this photo that it would take another six months for me to realize why I loved it so much.

Maybe it is Ryleigh telling me… it’s alright, and it’s time to share.
